Riga Combined Cycle Power Plant

Scope of the project

The Riga Combined Cycle Power Plant, located in the capital of Latvia and with a capacity of 700 MW, was IPROCEL's first project in this Baltic country. Developed in partnership with Iberdrola and the national energy operator Latvenergo, this facility marked the company's entry into a new European market, extending its international reach in the conventional generation sector.
The scope of commissioning services performed by IPROCEL covered:
- Execution of functional tests on the electrical and control systems of gas and steam turbines.
- Validation of thermal and electromechanical auxiliary systems, including recovery boilers, cooling systems and water treatment.
- Supervision of the integration and operation of the distributed control system (DCS), ensuring the correct coordination between subsystems.
- Active participation in the synchronisation and initial operation process, providing technical assistance until commercial commissioning.
This project consolidated IPROCEL's ability to work closely with both large international groups and local operators such as Latvenergo, strengthening its presence in Eastern Europe and demonstrating its flexibility to adapt to different regulatory and technological environments.
