Messaied Combined Cycle Power Plant

Scope of the project

The Mesaieed Combined Cycle Power Plant, located south of Doha (Qatar), with an installed capacity of 2,400 MW, represents the largest combined cycle in which IPROCEL has participated to date. Executed together with Iberdrola, this ambitious project marked a milestone in the company's international trajectory, opening the doors to a strategic market such as the Middle East, where IPROCEL has continued to develop its activities, including the commissioning of electrical substations.
Commissioning services performed by IPROCEL included:
- Functional testing and energisation of medium and high voltage electrical systems, ensuring the stability and reliability of the internal network.
- Testing of control and automation systems, ensuring coordinated operation of gas turbines, steam turbines and their respective auxiliaries.
- Supervision of steam generation and heat recovery systems, including tests on HRSG boilers and condensers.
- Technical assistance during the synchronisation and initial operation phases of the generation units, up to the final handover to commercial operation.
This project was a turning point for IPROCEL, consolidating its presence in a key region of the energy sector and facilitating its participation in similar projects in neighbouring countries, thus strengthening its role as an international provider of commissioning services in large generation infrastructures.
