The Koudiet Eddraouch Combined Cycle Power Plant, located in the region of El Tarf (northeast Algeria), with a capacity of 1,200 MW, represented one of the largest generation projects in North Africa at the time. For IPROCEL, this contract was a logical step in its international expansion, taking advantage of the experience acquired in the neighbouring country, Morocco, and consolidating its presence in a region with great energy projection such as Algeria.
In this project, IPROCEL carried out testing and commissioning services, with a specific focus on combined cycle power plants, including:
- Functional validation of high, medium and low voltage electrical systems, ensuring correct coordination between equipment and protections.
- Operational testing of gas and steam turbines as well as auxiliary generation and transformation systems.
- Configuration and testing of distributed control systems (DCS), facilitating safe and efficient plant operation.
- Technical support during initial start-up, synchronisation to the grid and load testing of each generation block.
IPROCEL's participation in Koudiet reinforced its role as a technical partner for large generation projects internationally, and confirmed its ability to adapt to the standards and needs of reference customers in emerging markets.
