Parnaiba I Combined Cycle Power Station

Scope of the project

The Parnaíba I Combined Cycle Power Plant, located in the state of Maranhão (Brazil), with an installed capacity of 850 MW, marked an important milestone in IPROCEL's international trajectory by becoming the first project executed by the company in the country. This initial incursion into Brazil opened the door to a sustained presence in the market, where IPROCEL has continued to develop work in the field of both conventional generation and the commissioning of electrical substations.
In this project, IPROCEL provided specialised commissioning services, which included:
- Verification of high, medium and low voltage electrical systems, ensuring their correct integration.
- Functional testing of gas and steam turbines, as well as recovery boilers and auxiliary equipment.
- Testing and configuration of control and automation systems, aimed at ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Technical assistance in initial manoeuvres, start-up, synchronisation to the grid and load tests.
Parnaíba I marked the beginning of a consolidation phase in one of the most important energy markets in Latin America, demonstrating IPROCEL's capacity to take on technical and logistical challenges in new geographies with high potential.
