The 64 MW Rockford Diesel Power Station in Jamaica marked a historic milestone for IPROCEL as its first international project in 1997. This project marked the beginning of the company's international trajectory, paving the way for decades of global activity in the energy sector. The project, developed for the European Power Consortium, consisted of the commissioning of a thermal power plant based on continuous generation diesel engines, aimed at reinforcing the country's electricity grid. The scope of work included: - Functional verification of medium and low voltage auxiliary electrical systems. - Testing of diesel generator sets, including starting, speed regulation and synchronisation systems. - Configuration and adjustment of local control systems, operation and protection panels. - Technical support in the start-up, network synchronisation and load validation phases of each unit. - Coordination with the local operator to ensure a safe and progressive integration of the generation park into the national grid. This project not only represented the starting point of IPROCEL's internationalisation, but also consolidated its capacity to deal with conventional installations of different nature and complexity with technological solvency.
